My latest acquisition for my son was an espadrille. I had doubts if he would wear it, since the boot is practically glued to his foot, but I was amazed how the new footwear was well received.
The shoe with flat heels reminds us a pump, but actually has its origins in the in the espadrilles sandals created over than 600 years ago in Catalonia. The sandals made of fabric with rope soles derived from the esparto (plant found in the Mediterranean soil) and were used by the peasants.
In the 60s, Yves Saint Laurent was the one who brought them for the first time on the catwalks.
To the children’s universe, the piece was adapted with cheerful colors, playful prints, different fabrics and some of it even received applications becoming luxury parts.
Some models even comes with natural or rubber soles and super modern versions with lace, spikes, metallic, colorful…
Besides matching perfectly with summer, it don’t lose the principal characteristic: The comfort! And the best, at least for me, matches with everything, leaving any look with a relaxed and cool touch, and replace the shoes and slippers with a lots of class and elegance.
I selected some models to inspire you. And for mothers of boys, like me, how about joining this trend?
